Joseph was born on August 17, 1954 in Washington DC, son of the late Jack M. and Marjorie L. (Haley) Callahan. He was a 1972 graduate of Salem Senior High in Ohio. Joseph was an Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 313 of Fairmount. He had been a truck driver for City Beverage of Marion and enjoyed playing golf.
Joseph is survived by two children; Sean Callahan and Nichelle Callahan Lanning both of Noblesville, two brothers; David (JodDell) Callahan, Fairmount, Cimothy Callahan, Warsaw, two sisters; Becci Haisley, Fairmount and Elizabeth; two grandchildren; Kye and Cohen Callahan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Graveside service for Joseph will be at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th Street, Marion with Military Rites on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 1 PM.
