Barbara Nell Moody Yates, age 77, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2019. Barbara was born April 15, 1941, to Harold Eugene Moody and Nell Rae Fuller in Leonard, Texas.
Barbara is remembered as a fabulous, outgoing Wife and Mother. She was an active member of Robinson Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed relaxing at their Lake Whitney home with W. J.. She was a Great Grandmother who enjoyed playing on the computer, but mostly playing Nintendo Zelda games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren in Grand Prairie and traveling to Wisconsin to be with her other grandchildren. She met W. J. at church in January 1957, and married December 27, 1958.
Barbara is survived by her husband: W. J. Yates of 60 years, her daughter Phyllis Graves and husband Donald, and her son Harold Yates and wife Wendy; 4 grandchildren: Deryk Graves; Bryan Graves; Amanda Yates; and William Yates; 2 Great Grandchildren: Rhylan Graves and Iverson Graves. Siblings: Nowell Jay Freeman, and Sheila Allen as well as multiple nieces, and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, and her Sister Norma Jean Butterworth.
Visitation and Service will be from 5:00pm-7:30pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Bean-Massey Burge Funeral Home in the Chapel, located on 2951 S. Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
