Edith Pierce Hight

Edith Pierce Alfriend Hight, 89, of 302 S. East St. died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000.
A native of Hancock County, Mrs. Hight was a daughter of the late James Watts and Edith Pierce Alfriend and was the widow of James Preston Hight Sr.
She was a teacher at Bleckley County schools and was a stenographer with the U.S. government. She was a member of Sparta Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of Women in the Church.
She was a 1928 graduate of Sparta High School and a 1930 graduate of Georgia State College for Women. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sparta City Cemetery with the Revs. Reggie Haslett and Ford G. Segner officiating.
Survivors include a son, James P. Hight, Greensboro; and a sister, Julia Bailey, Waycross.
The family is at the residence. McCommons Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
