Mother's Maiden Name: Blodgett

Isaac Jackson Spurlin, 84, a native of Texas, and a resident of Santa Cruz for the last 11 years, died Friday in his home at 1205 Capitola road. He was a retired elder of the Nazarene church and served his last pastorate in Mason, Tex. Since his retirement 12 years ago, he did evangelistic work from time to time.

He is survived by his widow, Maud L. Spurlin; seven daughters, Essie Lovelace of Daly City, Pauline Thomas of Clarendon, Tex., Christine Spurlin of Port Said, Egypt, Amanda Lee Parrish of Santa Cruz, Imogene Christy of Yuba City, Reba Cotter of Santa Cruz and Teresa Popolski of Vallejo; two sons, Thomas E. Spurlin of Paramount and Jack P. Spurlin of San Francisco; two stepchildren, Wade Busby of Lakewood and Mrs. Kelsy Hawthorne of Daly City; 28 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, G, S. Spurlin of Dallas, Tex., and a sister, Mrs. Millie Billingsley of Wichita Falls, Tex.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in the Wessendorf chapel with Rev. J. Paul Alexander officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Memorial park.
