Charles O. Agee, 87, of Nitro, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House West.

He was a 1950 graduate of Nitro High School, where he excelled in all sports. Charlie was retired from Union Carbide/Rhone Poulenc Institute Plant with 35 years of service. He was a member of Nitro Masonic Lodge #170 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies of Charleston, and Beni Kedem Shrine Temple of Charleston. Charlie was an avid golfer and was a loving and devoted "Poppy" to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Nitro for over 65 years. One of his passions at the church was to sing in the Chancel Choir and the Praise Team.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Virginia Agee, son Bobby Agee, grandson Wesley Markham, and brother James Agee.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 70 years Eileen Agee, daughters Terri Markham of Nitro, Kay Mikeal and husband Dana of Charleston, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and his constant canine companion Pepper, sisters Patsy Brown of Nitro, and Jenny Lawson of Summersville. He is also survived by his church family and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on 20th Street in Nitro with Pastor Greg Markins officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Charlie at HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd W, Charleston, WV 25387-2536.

The family wants to give a special thank you to all of the caregivers from Hospice that showed so much love and support during Charlie's preparation to go to his Heavenly Home.
