Chester Ray "Chet" Barber died at the age of 67. Born in Chunky, Miss., on Dec. 18, 1944, he was the son of the late Mettro Barber and Katherine Curry Barber. Mr. Barber graduated from Hickory High School in Hickory, Miss., in the class of 1963 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Mississippi State University in 1968. His engineering career spanned 35 years with many accomplishments. He was a former employee of Cessna Aircraft, Westinghouse, Penco and Dynasteel of Natchez.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Casey Erin Jeffers; and a grandson, Billy Ray Thornton Jr.
