A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Troy Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Randy Haithcock officiating. Burial will follow in Greene Parsons Cemetery.
Born Dec. 10, 1944, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Walker and Monnie Greene Shepherd who preceded him in death. After serving in the National Guard, he owned and operated Shepherd Logging Co. He was a hard-working man. Work was his hobby and he loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by wife of 48 years, Rena Fee Shepherd of the home; children, Rhonda Johnson of Southport and Chris Shepherd (Christy) and Daniel Shepherd (Kerri), all of Troy; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son, David H. Shepherd; brothers, Larry Shepherd and Gary Shepherd; and sister, Catha Tyson.
