Karen Helm Snyder, 63, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
She was a proud and successful business woman, retiring from the Equitable Insurance Company and most recently, Elizabeth Arden. Karen loved traveling, the beach, gardening and shopping. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, dependability and great love for her family and friends. Karen was a friend to many and was known for putting the care of others before her own.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Helm; her brother and best friend, James S. Helm; and sister, Brenda Helm Mooney.
Karen was raised and loved by Della and Mark Martin.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Charles L. Snyder; and her children, Eric Wright, Jeremiah Wright (Harmony), Brandy Wright (Anthony) and Mark Helm. The light of her life came in the form of her grandchildren, Trey, Cameron, Marlee, Branyal, Nyah, Cash and Kyle. Karen is also survived by her sister, Debbie; brother, Carl (Eddie); sister-in-law, Jill; niece, Chelsea (Teddy) and children, Isaac and Austyn; niece, Justin (Mark) and children, Emily and Lauren; and special cousins, Betty and Mark. Karen had many dear friends that she leaves behind including Ann, Carolyn, Missy, Kim, Cindy and Christine. Lastly, she leaves behind her side kick and special fur buddy, Sir Harry Winston.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Oakey’s East Chapel. A Memorial Service will be conducted at noon on Friday, April 5, 2019, at Oakey’s East chapel with Pastor Samuel Anderson officiating.
