Wanda Faye Simmons, 70, passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2019, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Wanda had several birds and loved "Tweety Bird"; each bird was named after a family member. Charles Morris, her best friend, took care of Wanda when she became ill.

The family wishes to thank the Hospice of the Shenandoah for their support.

Wanda was born to Robert C. and Virginia Faye Simmons on June 16, 1948. Wanda joins three brothers, Johnny, Carl and Dwight Simmons and a sister-in-law, Earline, who predeceased her.

Surviving family are niece, Christine Russ (Merle) and their children, Hunter Holcomb and Brenley Russ; sisters-in-law, Libby and Mary Sue Simmons, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday April 3, 2019, from 5 until 7 p.m. at McDow Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park Thursday April 4, 2019, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in her name to the Hospice of the Shenandoah.
