After college, Dan joined the U.S. Army, where he served as an Infantry soldier in the Vietnam War between 1968 and 1970. After returning home, he started a career in sales where he worked for several companies stretching from the northeast to the southeast. Along the way, he developed a love of lawn care and gardening that he pursued until his last days. He was a Master Gardener in Virginia as well as Florida.
Survived by his devoted wife Lucinda Bonner of 47 years; children Gregory and Blythe; five grandchildren; brother James R. Bonner; and sister Janet Gambill. He is preceded in death by parents Lola and James M. Bonner.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at HIERS-BAXLEY Funeral & Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162.
