Jacob "Jack" Neelan Harris, 18, of 55 Twelve Oaks Lane, died Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Duke University Medical Center. Born in Vance County on November 15, 2000, he was the son of Royall Vance Harris and Jeanetfer Oliver Harris of the home.

Jack was a senior at Henderson Collegiate High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and played trumpet in the school band. He was also active in the Vance County Teen Council, participated in Vance County Teen Court as an attorney and was a member of the Military Sans Frontier Airsoft Club.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Freedom Life Church of God by Rev. Dr. Robert L. Oliver and Rev. Jeff Prewer. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers, George Duke of Cleveland, TN, James Jackson, Cody Boyd and Logan Boyd all of Henderson; his paternal grandmother, Linda Harris of Henderson; three uncles, Rev. Dr. Robert L. Oliver and wife Wanda of Stovall, Thomas Lee Oliver of Oxford, and John Laforest Oliver and wife Tuesday of Oxford; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hazel Barts Oliver and John Thomas Oliver, Jr.; his paternal grandfather, Chandler Vance Harris; and one uncle, Michael Anthony Harris.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
