John Wesley Dunlap, age 96, of Plumerville, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019. He was born January 15, 1923 in Mallettown, Arkansas, a son of John Murphy Dunlap and Anna Naomi Mallett Dunlap. He was the widower of Laverne Jones Dunlap. John was a farmer and member of Mallettown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Jerry and wife, Carrolyn Dunlap of Springfield, David and wife, Jo Ellen Dunlap of Oppelo, Charles and wife, Sandra Dunlap of Hill Creek, Randy and wife, Mary Dunlap of Hill Creek, Judy and husband, Kevin Hoggard of Roland, and Sheila and husband, Scott Trafford of Conway; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Annetta Jean Dunlap; granddaughter, Kelli Dunlap; sisters, Oma Floy Dunlap, Meb Stanton, and Willie Kellar; brothers, Pat Dunlap, Lloyd Dunlap, and Faber Dunlap.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Harris Chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mallettown Cemetery, or Hospice Home Care of Arkansas.
