Raymond C. Banks, 89 of Cache, OK passed away on Sunday March 31, 2019 in Lawton, OK. He was born on January 28, 1930 in Cache, OK to Burtwell and Hazel Banks.

He lived in and attended school in Cache. He was a 1948 graduate of Cache High School. On June 2, 1948, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp, which later became the United States Air Force. Raymond served his country honorably for just over twenty years of Active Military Service, retiring on June 30, 1968. During his time in the Air Force, he was stationed in many unique locations and had many notable assignments. One of his duties as an inflight aviation technician was to help during the Berlin Airlift. While on a mission in London, he and several other members from his flight crew were selected to attend the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II at West Minister Abbey. He was also selected to work on Air Force One, but declined the assignment because it would have meant being away too often from his family.

After retiring from the Air Force, Raymond returned home with his family to Cache. In the fall of 1968, Raymond began attending Cameron University and graduated with a double bachelor’s degree in Business administration and Mathematics. Raymond continued his distinguished service to our country as a government contracted aviation maintenance supervisor working on U. S. military aircraft. In his leisure time, he enjoyed his horses, fishing, hunting and volunteering as a Boy Scout leader. Raymond married the love of his life, Frances Jenice Lawrence on August 31, 1952 at the First Christian Church of Lawton. They enjoyed over sixty-six years of marriage to one another and where happiest spending time with one another raising their six children.

Raymond is survived by his wife Frances of the home; his sons and daughters in law: Samuel and Claire Banks of Cache, OK , Regina and Tom Banks of Lawton, OK, and Mike Banks of Cache, OK; his daughters and sons in law: Nancy and Daniel Breaden of Lawton, OK and Donna and J.R.
