Alfred Zoerb, Former Council Member, dead

TWO RIVERS—Alfred H. Zoerb, 69?, of 2618 Adams St., retired superintendent of the Schwartz Mfg. Co., a former vice president of the City Council and past master of the Two Rivers Masonic Lodge, died early Tuesday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where he had been a patient the past five weeks.

Masonic funeral services conducted by the Two Rivers Lodge No. 200, F. & A.M., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Congregational Church here, the Rev. R.J. Wichlei officiating. The Masonic rites will be held by Past Master Heber Clayton both at the church and graveside at Forest View Cemetery.

Mr. Zoerb was born in Two Rivers on April 12, 1887, a son of the late Fred and Laura Bauer Zoerb. He attended the Two Rivers public grade and high schools. After a short period of employment at the Hamilton Mfg. Co. he began to work for the Schwartz Mfg. Co. in 1921, becoming its superintendent in 1925. He retired in 1954 after 25? years of service.

Mr. Zoerb served six years on the City Council from 1936 to 1942 and became its vice president in the last year. He was a member of the Two Rivers Lodge of Masons, No. 200, for many years, serving as its worshipful master in 1939. He was also a longtime member of Grace Congregational Church and at the time of his death he was a trustee.

Surviving are his wife, the former Amanda Halberg of Mishicot, whom he married on Aug. 4, 1916; four daughters, Mrs. Reuben (Winifred) Plantico Jr., of Two Rivers, Mrs. Frederick (Sally) Clemens of Charleston, W. Va., Mrs. John (Rachel) Murrell of Whitefish Bay and Mrs. Howard (Nancy) Rice of Minneapolis, Minn; a son, Frederick of Sturgeon Bay; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Muth of Lawrence, Kan.; three brothers, George of Oshkosh, Howard of Cudahy and Maurice of Milwaukee, and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, after 4 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Halberg.
