A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, IA.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Sharon was born July 7, 1936 to Elna H. (Peterson) and Russell E. Allison in Nashua, Chickasaw, Iowa. She grew up in the shadow of WW II the youngest of five children on a small farm outside of town. During her childhood the home on the farm burnt down and the family moved into Charles City. There both parents worked in the Oliver tractor factory to supplement the farm. Sharon graduated from Charles City High School in May of 1955.
In December of that same year she married her life-long sweetheart; Louis E. Bartlett. A marriage that would last 57 years.
Sharon and Louie walked many adventures together; some leaving wounds and scars, others bringing joy and rewards. Into this marriage five children were born; two lost to tragedy.
They lived in six states, worked in as many major industries (agriculture, aviation, hospitality, insurance, energy, and transportation) and traveled the US extensively.
She is survived by her oldest sister, Jean E. (Allison) Benson, Osage, Iowa; three daughters, Brenda Lee (Bartlett) Hovden, Neola, Iowa, Kimberly Jean (Bartlett) Noblitt, Grand Junction, Colorado; and Sherry Ann (Bartlett) Butler-Dansdill of Collinsville, Oklahoma. Twelve grandchildren: Cory Dean Dehning, Kylee Jean (Levi) Monger, Clayton Louis Noblitt, Travis Jon Heier, Zachary Tylor Heier, Allison Shelly Marie (Bradley) Brooks, Aaron J.M. Dansdill, Andrew J.L. Butler, Clinton Lee Seegmiller, Shannon Marie (Brandon) Hartley, Tera Lee (Kevin) Mathis, Tessia Mae (Jon) Wangsness and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Louie, and two children; Dean Louis and Shelly Ann (Bartlett) Seegmiller.
