Bennie A. Schultz, age 98 of Wittenberg, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.

He was born on January 3, 1921 in the town of Texas, son of the late Paul and Louise (Oge) Schultz. On December 6, 1947 he married Betty Jane Walters in Aniwa, WI. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2009.

Bennie was a truck driver in the US Army during WWII. He was a logger by trade, and loved to work with his team of horses - Pearl and Lady. He owned a small dairy farm, and always enjoyed gardening. He even had a small garden at the Homme Home during his final years. Bennie had very strong Christian faith.

Survivors include his three children, Nancy (Terry) Jarchow of Aniwa, Susan (Norbert) Hetzel of Aniwa, and Wayne (Kathy) Schultz of Antigo; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty and his many siblings.

Memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home in Birnamwood. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Union Cemetery in Aniwa at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
