Mrs. Julie Ann Stromberg Shackelford passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg. She was 62 years old.

Born April 13, 1956 in Vallejo, CA, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Alyce Mae Nelson Stromberg.

Mrs. Shackelford retired as an Administrative Assistant from Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, where she resided until moving to Marlboro County 10 years ago. While living in Bennettsville she was employed with Beaty Dental Clinic and later with the Bennettsville Police Department.

She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and enjoyed antique shopping, gambling, and playing Bingo.

Mrs. Shackelford was preceded in death by her parents listed above and her brother, Ted Stromberg.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband, Ronald H. “Ron” Shackelford of Bennettsville; son, Jason Brown (Angela) of Elkridge, MD; daughter, Jennifer Saloom (Matt) of New Bern, NC; step-daughter, Pamela Loebach (Paul) of Rockville, MD; sister, Carol Lancaster (Bruce) of West Friendship, MD; grandchildren, Ashleigh Saloom and Christiana Brown; step-grandchildren, Michael and Katie Loebach; numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Shackelford is to be scheduled at a later date.
