Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA for Esther L. Savoy, 93, the former Esther LeDoux. Mrs. Savoy, a long-time resident of the Lawtell area, died Sunday morning, March 31 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point.
Father Austin Leger will conduct the services with interment following in the cemetery adjacent to the church.
Survivors include her sons: Clarence Savoy and wife Glenda, Emery Savoy and wife Linda, Mervin Savoy and companion Theresa, Gervais Savoy and wife Cathy and Jimmy Savoy and wife Jackie-all of Lawtell; a daughter, Judy Neucere and husband Ellis of Abbeville, LA; two sisters, Ella Mae Cormier and husband George of Church Point and Bernice Benoit and husband Carroll of Eunice, LA; fifteen grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Alice Picard LeDoux; her husband, Joseph "J.C." Savoy and a granddaughter, Emily Savoy.
A devout Catholic who prayed the rosary fervently, Mrs. Savoy loved her family and garden. Truly loved, she will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc
