Steven K. Allen, a 1973 graduate of Sophia High School went to be home with his Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Steve was the son of the late Aubrey “Judge” Allen and Virginia “Jenny” Thompson Allen of Sophia, WV.
He was preceded in death by his dad and mom; sister, Carol Atkins; and niece, Jennifer Atkins. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Sarah Hall, and Audrey Cooper and her husband, Ron; brothers, Aubrey “Rock” Allen and his wife, Sharon, James Allen, Charles Allen and his wife, Reba, Jerry Allen and his wife, Donna, Michael Allen and his wife, Elizabeth “Betty”, Juddy Allen and his wife, Bernita, Anthony “Tony” Allen and his wife, Terri; his brother-in-law, Russell “Jr” Atkins; and many nieces and nephews. “WE LOVE YOU!”
Steve was a retired railroad worker and a volunteer fireman for Raleigh County and the city of Sophia for over 30 years. He had a passion for participating in Civil War re-enactments and was a member of Hill Top Baptist Church in Midway, WV.
A Memorial Service will be held during Steve’s Family Reunion on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 5:00 pm at the Raleigh County 4-H Camp. Steve’s cremated remains will be spread at the Allen Family Cemetery in Bolt, WV on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 10:00 am.
