WILMINGTON—Janet L. Robbins, 48, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born Dec. 10, 1970 in Joliet, Janet Lynn was a daughter of Franklin Edwin Yackly III and Jo Ann (nee Marchetti) Yackly. She was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1989. On Oct. 24, 1992, Janet married Steve Robbins in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center and together they made their home and raised their four children.
One who was always helping others and put everyone else’s needs above her own, Janet’s family was her biggest hobby. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and spending weekends with her friends, as well as painting and playing bunco.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Steve; four children: Steven Robbins, Holly Robbins, Noelle Robbins and Patrick Robbins; her father, Franklin Yackly and mother-in-law, Loretta Robbins, all of Wilmington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Matthew (Melissa) Cherveny, of Ohio; Mike (Jennifer) Robbins, of Morris; Sue (Tom) Carroll, of Barrington and Mark (Michelle) Robbins, of Woodridge; nieces and nephews: Matthew (Brittany) Cherveny, Marc (Amanda) Cherveny, Nate Cherveny, Clay Cherveny; Hayden Martin, Harper Martin, Jordan Robbins, Claire Robbins, Nolan Robbins, Colleen Carroll, Kaitlyn Carroll, Luke Robbins, Lily Robbins and Lexi Robbins, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Ann Yackly on May 4, 2015; one sister, Jennifer Cherveny and her father-in-law, Jerry Robbins.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 3 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Deacon Milt Leppert will preside, and cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Janet will be laid to rest in Mount Saint Patrick Cemetery in Wilton Center.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Janet’s memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main St., Wilmington, IL 60481 or to the Kankakee County Humane Foundation, P.O. Box 2115, Kankakee, IL 60901.
