Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Cash Forsythe and Robert Fulton Forsythe. She was the widow of Page Fenner Hughes.
Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Tim Short.
Surviving are a daughter, Kim H. Christopher; a sister, Edith Short; four grandchildren, Allyson Corvin, Greg Hughes, Brandon Hughes and Wesley Hughes; two great-grandsons, Collin Hughes and Mason Hughes. She was preceded in death by two sons, Mickey Mantle Hughes and Gene Hughes.
The family will receive friends at the home of Kim Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor New York, NY 10001.
