Nancy Sue Henderson McGee was born and reared in Greenville, MS, the second of the four children of Jack Percival and Olga Virginia (Jenny) Colvin Henderson. She was especially active in water sports and social activities through high school. After exploring options in several programs at several colleges, she completed her bachelor and master degrees in education at Mississippi College. During those years, through her older brother Clark, now Fr. John Clark, she became involved in what would become the Evangelical Orthodox Church. She met her husband, John, through the church, and they married in 1980. She worked in several areas throughout her adult years, but her family and the activities of the church were the focal points of her life. She was especially involved in the parish choir until her health prevented. She was one of the members of St. John who was chrismated into Orthodoxy in 1987. She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia at the age of sixty-three and died of related complications.

Nancy is survived by her husband John, her children John Caleb, Christine, and Jeremy Clark, her mother, Jenny Henderson, her brother, Very Reverend Father John Clark Henderson (Janet Stone), her brother Jack Collins Henderson (Susan Turner), and her sister Melanie Henderson Newell (Alvin Monroe, Jr.), and a gaggle of nephews and nieces once and twice removed.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, March 31st at St. John Orthodox, 1663 Tutwiler Ave, with Trisagion Service at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 1st at St. John Orthodox with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for contributions to the St. John Orthodox Church Alms Fund and to Page Robbins Adult Day Center.
