Bobby Lee Zeigler, 69, of Moneta, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at his home. He was born Nov. 25, 1937, in St. Matthews, S.C., a son of the late Henry Zeigler and Lillie Mae Staley Zeigler.
Bobby was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, and was a self-employed custom builder for over 35 years. He had a deep passion for his family and he loved fishing and animals.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son, Henry Zeigler; two brothers, Johnny D. Zeigler and Henry Zeigler Jr.; and two sisters, Esther Lou Cook and Carrie Mae Zeigler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Phyllis Brads Zeigler; his children, Sheri King and her husband, Rick, of Forest, Diane Perdue and her husband, Keith, of Smyrna, Tenn., and Robert Johnston and his wife, Gloria, of Hanford, Calif.; by Phyllis's children, April Pleasant and her husband, Mike, of Bedford, Amanda Namisha and her husband, Chris, of Wake Forest, N.C., and Jessica House of Moneta; five grandchildren, Matthew King, Rachel Perdue, Adam Perdue and his wife, Melissa, Karen Lee and Chris Opolka; six step-grandchildren, Summer Namisha, Brianna Namisha, MaKenzie Markham, Scarlett Pleasant, Gage House and Grayson Pleasant; one great-grandson, Nicholas Landon Perdue; and three sisters, Vera Pound of St. Matthews, S.C., Ella Culler and her husband, Willie, of Aiken, S.C., and Emily Ashe and her husband, Glen, of Cordova, S.C.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Land Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory and also at other times at the home of Sheri King, 2005 Rocky Branch Drive, Forest, as well as the Zeigler home, 3606 Stony Fork Road, Moneta.
