Charles was educated in the Cincinnati public school system, where he attended Taft High School. He obtained an X-Ray Technician certificate from Jewish Hospital.
Charles married Peggie Woods and they bore one child, Michelle Alford Harris and had one step-son Ernest Woods.
Charles served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. He was part of the Airborne Unit. He later worked at the V.A. Hospital here in Cincinnati, Ohio as an X-Ray technician until he retired.
Charles was at peace on any lake fishing. Fishing was Charles passion. If there is a lake in heaven that's where you will find Charles. He also enjoyed hunting for deer, rabbits and other animals.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory; a daughter Michelle (Michael) Harris, a step-son Ernest (Deanna) Woods, one granddaughter Lyric S. Harris, brother Anthony (Gladys) Alford, sister Louise-Nannie Alford, two nieces; Janine Simmon Moore and Kimberly Simmon Moore and three nephews; Lee Simmons, Scott Simmons and Kenya Alford.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Spring Grove Funeral Home (4389 Spring Grove Ave, 45223) from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm. Service will follow at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at the Lawn Crypt at Spring Grove Cemetery with Reception to follow at the funeral home.
