Janie Lou Stephens, 86, of Madison entered her heavenly home on March 29, 2019. Janie is survived by her son, Thomas E. Stephens, Jr. (Margaret) of Nashville, TN.; three grandchildren, Corey Stephens (Misty), Megan Stephens Lagasse (Randall), and Christi Stephens Key (Chad); and eight precious great-grandchildren. Janie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas E. Stephens Sr.; her son Stanley Stephens; infant daughter, Susan Stephens; granddaughter, Lori Anne Stephens; sister, Mary Pope; and brother, Alvin Bigger. Janie was born on November 14, 1932 in Grady, AL. After marrying in 1950, Janie moved from south Alabama to Huntsville. In 1968, Janie moved with her family to Madison, where she lived for 51 years. Janie enjoyed spending time with family, listening to music, and watching sporting events. She loved the Lord and was an active member of the Madison Church of Christ for many years. Janie had a gentle and quiet spirit, an infectious smile and an endearing personality. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Madison Church of Christ, with the funeral service to follow at the church. Interment will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
