She was born in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late James Johnson Wolfe and Ophelia Allie McKnight.
She was a graduate of Bethel College in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and had a business career with various organizations including Veterans Affairs Coordinator at the University of Kentucky, was docent at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center, served as President of the Clifton Forge Women's Club and was active in the Troutville Baptist Church as well as the Clifton Forge Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frederick Blain Paxton; daughter, Sue Clarice Paxton (Paul) Davidson; grandson, Allan Frederick Davidson.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the Clifton Forge Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Harvey, Rev. Carol Johnson and Rev. Donna C. Sams officiating.
