Elizabeth (Betty) Kathleen Manning earned her angel wings on March 26, 2019. She was surrounded by her husband Melvin, sons Randy and Jason and sister Louise Heinz.

Betty was born on October 23, 1943 to Louis and Alicia Heinz at Spalding, NE. She grew up on the family farm by Pibel Lake. She spent some of her time having fun with her best friend Geri going to dances while dragging her younger brother Ed along who turned out to be a pretty good dancer thanks to Betty.

Betty married Melvin Manning on January 25, 1964. They lived in Grand Island, NE where their first son, Randy, was born. After the tornado’s destroyed their home in 1982 they moved to a farm north of Shelton. After two years their second son Jason was born.

Betty enjoyed working in her yard and her garden, raising her boys and being the wife of a farmer helping with farm work and cattle. She enjoyed being with her friends, shopping (which she was a pro at!) and doing her cleaning jobs.

She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and going on trips with her family.

Betty is survived by her husband Melvin, her sons Randy and Jason, daughter‐in‐law Ashley, grandsons Mark, Caleb, Collin and her granddaughter Addison, great grandson Junence Manning, sisters Louise Heinz and friend Gail Booth, Joan Smith and husband Bruce and brother Ed Heinz and wife Janet, nieces and nephews Kim Wells, Crystal Marzolf, Stacy Smith, Mike Marzolf, Dan Marzolf, Travis Heinz, Todd Smith, and Scott Smith, along with many great‐nieces and nephews.

She is now present for her wings ceremony with her parents, Louis and Alicia Heinz, her in-laws Henry and Catherine Manning, many aunts and uncles and baby son Robert James.

Betty was our touchstone. She was always there to lend a hand or listen to any problem. She will always remain in our hearts.
