Roy Eugene (Butch) Hale Jr., 64, of Moberly, passed away December 18, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Butch was born July 9, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Roy Hale Sr. and Joyce McClary Hale. He was a graduate of the class of 1972 from West Plains High School and from there began working for the University of Missouri, where he remained for twenty-five years.

Butch was a member of the Southern Randolph Christian Chapel. He was a great family man with a heart of gold. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and taking care of his grandchildren and precious puppies. He enjoyed working in his flower garden and an occasional trip to The Boat in Boonville. His family and friends will always remember him for his most generous heart.

Those preceding Butch in death include his parents; brothers Mike Hale and Steve Hale and sister Debbie Hale.

Butch is survived by his significant other, Debbie Dejonge of Moberly; son Tony (Sondra) Dejonge of Higbee; grandchildren, Kaila (Matt) Bolles, of Clark and Craig (Mariah) Dejonge of Higbee, great grandchildren Kinley and Britton Bolles of Clark; siblings, Sharon Hale, Linda Stubbs, Connie Hale and Jo York all of West Plains, MO, extended family and friends.
