She was born March 13, 1932 in Martinsville, Va., to the late Earnest and Lula Belle Preston (Trott). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Daniel "Danny" Mitchell.
Ellen is survived by four children, Dana E. Mitchell of Fort Washington, Md., Donnie Mason Mitchell & Darnell R. Mitchell of the home and Denise E. Mitchell of Upper Marlboro, Md., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; Siblings, Mason M. Preston of Martinsville, Lessie P. Moody of Portsmouth, Va. and Gloria Stewart of Baltimore, Md. She is also survived by an aunt, Rosa Lee Millner of Ridgeway, Va.
She was President and CEO of Preston Real Estate.
The family will receive friends at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 for visitation at High Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at Noon with Bishop Early Dillard, Officiating.
Burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, Va.
