William Edmond Rollins, a former resident of Terrell, Texas died March 24, 2019 in Celina, Texas. He was 73. He was a resident of Corinth, Texas. Mr. Rollins was born May 2, 1945 to the late James Daniel Rollins and Carrie Belle Kelpen Rollins, lifelong Terrell residents.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Bell Maples Rollins, one son, Mason Rollins of League City, Texas, two daughters, Cyndi Rollins Hudson and her husband Bob of Senatobia, Mississippi, and Allison Rollins Combrink and her husband Lance of The Woodlands, Texas. His surviving grandchildren are Adam Hudson of Conroe, Texas, Ross Hudson of Senatobia, Mississippi, and Mason, Jack, and Alexa Combrink of The Woodlands, Texas, as well as three step children, Kris Maples of Omaha, Nebraska, Alex Maples of Denton, Texas, and Jennifer Maples of Dallas Texas. He is also survived by one brother, James Daniel Rollins Jr. and his wife Jackie of Tyler, Texas, and his brother-in-law Edwin Russell of Winnsboro, Texas along with a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marabeth Rollins Russell.

Mr. Rollins was a 1963 graduate of Terrell High School and was a member of the THS band and was active in The First Christian Church of Terrell. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 390 and received the honor of Eagle Scout. He received his BBA degree in Accounting in 1967 at the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity and APO Scouting Service Fraternity. He was also a Certified Public Accountant in Dallas and Terrell where he owned W. Edmond Rollins PC. He worked for CLR Fast tax in Dallas, was a member of Lions International, founder and past president of the Terrell Soccer Association, member of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce and served as a deacon in The First Christian Church. He worked with FEMA performing audits and distribution of disaster relief. He loved helping others and was always happy and proud to do so.

He was an avid collector of books and enjoyed reading and exploring historical sites.

After his retirement, he and his wife Kay spent many years traveling extensively with friends and enjoyed their time exploring the country in their RV.

The family expends their deepest gratitude to Settlers Ridge Care Center in Celina for their loving care in his final days.

A memorial and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at The First Christian Church, Terrell, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Christian Church or Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
