Sidney “Howard” Jackson, Sr., age 77, of Rossville, GA passed away Thursday - March 28, 2019. He was born in Adamsville, Alabama to the late Jesse and Ethel King Jackson. He retired from U.S. Pipe & Foundry where he was a wood pattern maker. He attended Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ. He had resided in the Rossville and Fort Oglethorpe communities and most of his life in Adamsville, Alabama. He enjoyed working, piddling or tinkering on things. He was a NASCAR fan, especially for Dale Earnhardt and was also an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons: Sidney Howard Jackson, Jr., John Marvin Jackson, former wife: Linda Jackson DeLong and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife: Melba Sue McGehee Jackson of Rossville, GA, daughters: Michelle (Rev. James) Davis of Flintstone, GA, Patty Jackson of Woodstock, GA, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm - Friday and after 9:00 am Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am – Saturday – March 30, 2019 in the chapel with Minister Reid Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at 5850 Sardis Road - Boaz, AL 35956 with Pastor James Davis officiating. Arrangements by W.L.
