Dee Mummert Jones, age 58, of Hanover, Pa., and a longtime resident of the Sarasota/Bradenton area, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Oct. 12, 2009, surrounded by family at the Hospice House, Bradenton.
Dee was a member of Fellowship of Believers, Sarasota. She was a licensed practical nurse and was affiliated with Paws With A Cause.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Cleveland Mummert.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Chabel) Jimenez of Bradenton; her father, Jeff, and stepmother, Joyce Hurkman Mummert, of Bradenton; a brother, Dr. Earl (Dr. Margaret) Mummert of Old Lyme, Conn.; step-sisters Mary Miller, Janice Taylor, Joanne Morris, Barbara Pelletier, Kathryn Brondoni and Susan Brzostowski, all of Bradenton, and Sandra Sparks of San Antonio, Texas; and grandchildren Cecilia, and Matthew Jimenez of Bradenton.
The memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Fellowship of Believers, 3333 12th St., Sarasota. Her final resting place will be Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Paws With A Cause, 4646 Division Ave. South, Wayland, MI 49348; or TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. Covell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
