Poet. Daughter of Harold and Frances (Rundall) Gregg. She grew up in Marin County, CA. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (1967) and her Master of Arts(1972) from San Francisco State College. Her published books include Things and Flesh, Chosen By The Lion, The Sacraments of Desire, Alma, Too Bright to See, In the Middle Distance, and All of it Singing. She was in a long relationship to poet Jack Gilbert, and later married writer, political activist, and philosophy professor John Brentlinger, but they divorced in 1990. She was the third recipient of the Jackson Poetry Prize in 2009. Surviving are her three sisters, Chloe MacDonald, Susan Conard and Louise Belinda Gregg (her twin).
