Virginia's parents were Edmond and Virginia (Rasdall) Gilbreath, wonderful parents. She had a loving relationship with them both and cared for them until their deaths. After Mrs. Gilbreath passed on, Virginia and her father traveled to London several times.
It was a special time for them both.
After Mr. Gilbreath died, Virginia moved back to her roots and Kansas City was forever her home.
Virginia was a beautiful and thoughtful person and friend to many. We lost our dear friend the morning of March 23, 2019. She faced a hard battle with strength and courage.
In 1996 she married her teenage sweetheart, John Byron Pierce. They had dated when Virginia was 16 and John was 17 but as many youthful romances, it lasted just a few years and they went on to marry others.
Later in life they reconnected and were married. Their life together was full, fun and wonderful until John's death in 2007.
After John's death, Virginia filled her days with friends, reading and caring for her little canine friend, Rosie.
"Say not in grief she is no more
But live in thankfulness that she was"
– Hebrew Proverb
