Ray D. Owen, of Lacey’s Spring the Morgan City area, passed away Tuesday at Whitesburg Gardens Rehab Center in Huntsville.
Ray retired from Chrysler as a Maintenance Supervisor. He enjoyed drag racing, Nascar and working in the wrecker & towing business. He was a member of Rescue United Methodist Church.
Mr. Owen is survived by his son, W. Ray Owen; brothers & sisters-in-law, James D. “Cooter” Owen & Doris, Melvin A. Owen & Linda; sisters & brother-in-law, LaQuita Wray, Janice Bradford & Don. Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin “Buster” J.P. Owen & Opal Vonda Lamons Owen; wife, Alverene Smallwood Owen.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at Rescue United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rescue Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at Rescue United Methodist Church.
