Ray F. Green, 64, of Forest, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Ray loved life and music. He sang and played bluegrass music for 22 years and was one of the founding members of the band “ In The Tradition”. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Sandra Green; daughters Jennifer Inge (Elliott) and Tammy Mason (Scott); three grandsons: Timothy Ray Little, Tyler Scott Little, and Jeremy Cole Mason; sisters Sue Womack (Steve) and Lois Crawford, and in-laws Steve Green, Linda Adams (Tommy), Rosemary Wilson (Bud), Kathy McLane, Wanda Martin, and Jeff Shupe, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Franklin Green and Isabell Price Green and sister, Minnie Lou Green.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends at their home 150 Amarillo Trail, Forest, VA all other times.
