Mr. Henry Gerome Wells, age 83, of 89 Outlaw Rd., Roxboro, NC 27574, departed this life Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Person Memorial Hospital ECU in Roxboro. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills, NC.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Janie Cook Wells.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bernice Stanfield Wells of the home; two children: Cedric Wells (Delicia) of Bowie, MD and Lisa Wells of Oxford, NC; three grandchildren: Tedric Wells of Washington, DC, Thomas Bell of Oxford, NC and Warren Reeves of Bowie, MD; two sisters: Ida Monroe (Lacy) and Edna Bishop (Francis), both of Washington, DC; and a host of other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00pm at Union Grove Baptist Church, 3081 Union Grove Church Road, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541 with the Rev. Rufus Johnson, Sr., pastor, officiating and providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm with the family present during the last hour from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Missionary Circle of Union Grove Baptist Church.
