Sarah L. McCormick, age 79, of Longview passed away March 25, 2019. She was born March 31, 1939 in Sunray, Texas to Haskell William and Lela Mae Dooley. Sarah grew up in Dumas, Texas and graduated from Dumas High School. After High School she married her High School Sweetheart, Jack McCormick on July 19, 1957. Sarah worked in the Insurance Industry for over 20 years, was Church Secretary for Trinity Baptist Church for 10 years and taught Sunday School at Trinity Baptist for over 20 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters Victoria Lynn Sommers of Lakeport and Sharon Kay McCormick of Kilgore; grandson Kyle Lane Newman, granddaughter Stacie Lynn Newman, great-grandson Zachery Logan Howard and great-granddaughter Serenity Grace Newman,
Sarah was preceded in passing by her parents, Haskell William Dooley, her mother Lela Mae Dooley and her beloved husband Jack A. McCormick.
Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Friday March 29, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport. Interment will follow services at Rosewood Park. Friends are welcomed to join the family for a time of visitation from 5-7pm on Thursday, March 28 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the David Toon Memorial Building Fund at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport.
