Mrs. Margaret Betts Carter passed away on December 6, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mrs. Margaret was born April 6, 1927, in West Point, the daughter of the late Burkett Warren and Mary Emma Vail Betts, Sr. Mrs. Margaret was a Graduate of West Point High School and attended Moodie Business School. She worked as a Service Assistant with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point where she was active in the W.M.U. Missionary Group. She was a past member of the West Point Pilot Club for 15 years, the women's culture club for 10 years, and the New Century Club for 10 years. She married Clifton Carter, Jr. on November 23, 1963, in West Point and he passed away December 16, 1990. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Margaret was preceded in death by her brother: B.W. Betts, Jr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include her two nieces and two nephews and a number of cousins.
Pallbearers will be the Deacon's at First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
