Gloria Burnette Haynes, 67, of Asheville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County she was a daughter of the late Jennings and Thelma Maynor Burnette. She was a secretary for her husband's dental lab, and a very loving person who never complained through her years of sickness. She was a huge fan of NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and also loved the Atlanta Braves. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Haynes; daughter, Ronda Pounders and son-in-law, Carter Pounders and two grandsons, Joshua and Moses Pounders; sisters, Sharon Brown of Asheville and Beverly Dillon of Key Largo, FL; sisters-in-law, Pam and Tommy West of SC, and Sharon and Steve Whitaker of Fairview; brother-in-law, Jimmy Haynes of Asheville; and several nephews and nieces. A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Grassy Branch Baptist Church on Riceville Road, with Rev. Carter Pounders officiating.
