Scientist and Inventor. Invented the egg carton. Was the unofficial Mother of Refrigerated Shipping (known as "The Ice Lady.") She contributed to the design of commercial and household refrigerators, refrigerated railway cars, and freezers. Her work made it possible to transport milk and beer nationwide.
