Vinita, OK – Elizabeth Ann Woodard, 85, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Elizabeth, or "Betty", as she was known to her family and friends, was born July 26, 1921 at Vinita, Oklahoma to Eugene Dallas Ficklin and Ola Lue (Perkins) Ficklin. She grew up in Vinita, graduating high school there. Betty moved to Tulsa as a young girl and later married Charley S. Woodard at Independence, Kansas in 1940. The Woodards moved back to Vinita in 1964. A homemaker most of her life, Betty did work several years as an attendant at Home of Hope in Vinita. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church of Vinita. Betty loved caring for her large family of children and grandchildren and enjoyed reading mysteries and romance novels.

Survivors include her children, Faye Ann Giddens of Memphis, Tennessee, Charles Woodard of the home, Bill Woodard of Mannford, Oklahoma, Betty Jo Bridges of Aurora, Missouri, Patricia "Patty" Woodard and Kathy Woodard, both of Decatur, Alabama; two sisters, Frances May Hanner of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Shirley Cooley of Pueblo, Colorado; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Charley; by seven brothers, Milton, Billy, Gene, Louie, Bart, Walter and Jack Ficklin and by a sister, Helen Starr.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2007 at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Vinita's Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Rosary service will be 6 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
