Keith M. Knight, 62, of Westport, passed away at 9:17 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Heritage House Nursing Home. He was born on October 31, 1956 in Seymour, the son of George M. "Joe Knight and Doris Faye (Kirby) Knight Smith.
He was a life-long resident of Decatur County and graduated from South Decatur High School in 1975. He was employed at Printpack for 22 years and had also worked at Toyota, Wal-Mart & Rural King. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with his grandchildren, watching football, basketball and baseball games. He also umpired for boys' baseball and girls' softball for many years.
Survivors include his mother, Doris Faye Smith of Westport; daughter, Amber Knight Fixmer (Jason Patterson) of Greensburg; son, Ryan (Jenny) Knight of Greensburg; sisters, Karen (Jim) Paris of Westport, Kimberly (Jerry) Parsons of Shippenburg, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline (Tim) Woods of Brandon, Mississippi and Jill Griffith of Long Beach, California; brothers, Jeff (Janet) Knight of Westport and Karl (Mary) Knight of North Vernon; grandchildren, Taven Fixmer, Colton Furlow, Londyn Knight and Easton Knight.
He was preceded in death by his father, George M. "Joe" Knight; stepfather, Glenn DeWayne Smith and grandmother, Nora Jane Kirby.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Brian Vanest officiating. Following Keith's wishes he will be cremated and burial will follow at Westport Cemetery at a later date.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses through the funeral home. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.bassgasper.com.
