Carol Ann Bays Roberts, 75, of St. Albans, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at Valley Center, South Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born at South Charleston and was the daughter of the late Oather and Opal Bays. She was also preceded in death by an infant son and grandson, Cecil R. Roberts III; brothers, Harrison Lee Bays, Eugene Bays; sister, Beulah Withrow.
Carol was a member of Lincoln Drive Community Church, South Charleston, retired from Riverside Nursing Home and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her girl days out shopping and loved her special companion (Baby Kitty), some days she called her Baby or Baby Girl.
Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, Cecil R. Roberts Sr.; sons, Cecil (Naomi) Roberts Jr., Craig A. Roberts and Kenneth (Melissa) Roberts, all of St. Albans; sister, Linda Masongil of North Carolina; granddaughters, Paige Marie and Kenna Michelle Roberts; great - grandsons, Trent Marshall Profit; six step-grandchildren, Brandi Miller, Jessica, Jennifer and Cody Hazelett, Chasity and Chelsea Bridges; and adopted son, David Russell.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Lincoln Drive Community Church, 960 Lincoln Drive, South Charleston, with Pastor Charles Shelton and Pastor Tom Roland officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
Friends may visit with the family from 12 to 1 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
