Eddie, 77, of Homer passed away March 25, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. Eddie was born to James Alvin and Vesta Nina (Hurst) Roberts.

He graduated from Washburn High School and went on to attend Sinclair Community College. Eddie entered into the United States Air Force on June 8, 1960 and proudly serviced our country until his honorable discharge on March 2, 1964.

After his military career, Eddie worked for General Motors for over 28 years. He retired his career with the company as a General Foreman in 1995 when he was 53 years old.

Eddie enjoyed fishing, playing Canasta, and watching all University of Tennessee sports. He also loved spending time with his family and friends especially “Porch Time”.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Virginia Roberts of Homer; children, Debra (Steven) Fleisher of Waterford, Rebecca (Eugene) Paul of White Lake, and Michael Roberts of Homer; grandchildren, Scott (Brandy Miller) Fleisher of Parma, Melissa Sleight of Pelkie, Paul (Brooke) Fleisher of Tekonsha, Alan Klein of Holly, and Bobbie (Dakota) Thorington of Norfolk, VA; great-grandchild, Jaime Hawkins of Pelkie; sisters-in-law, Frances Roberts of Columbus, OH, and Ella Roberts of Knoxville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vesta Roberts; siblings, Kenneth Roberts, Kathleen Bridges, Pete Roberts, and Christine McGinnis; and 9 nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Thursday March 28, at Kempf Funeral Home. Eddie will be laid to rest in West Clarendon Cemetery in Tekonsha on Friday.

Memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
