On January 27, 2001 he married Penny M. Norling-Roddy, who survives.
Joe was owner/operator of Kidd Construction. He was a member of Melrose United Methodist Church where he served on the Leadership Committee, Board of Trustees, and on any committee that needed his experience and expertise. He loved serving God. He was in the Army during the Vietnam Era stationed in Korea. Joe was a world traveler. He enjoyed meeting people and hearing their stories and seeing different sites. He literally never met a stranger. He found something common to talk about with everyone especially children, grandchildren, or pets. Joe was a loyal Mason to the local and Cincinnati Chapters. He would drive to Cincinnati just to help them for the night. Joe was also a member of the VFW Post 7340 Cincinnati and Gold Circle Member #2019 and the National American Legion.
Joe is also survived by sons, J.J. Kidd, Cody (Tina) Kidd; stepson, Paul (Tracy) Roddy; stepdaughter, Angela (John) Head; twin brother, Coy W. Kidd; half brother, Bill Kidd; half sisters, Edith (Bill) Cox, Nellie Kidd; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by brothers, Oren and Andrew; sister, Gertrude “Liz” Bussel; and half-sisters, Rose Copper and Betty Ridner.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Thursday, March 28 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. He will be laid to rest in Hedges Cemetery, Paulding County with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be 11 AM until time of services.
