Minnie Nola went by "Nola Minnie" most of her adult life. She was the daughter of Elias Kavenaugh "E.K." Stanley and Emmaline "Emma" Hattie Reynolds. Nola married Josiah Franklin Buntyn in 1896. Josiah and Nola were the parents of five children whom survived infancy, and possibly four whom did not survive. The family lived in at least four counties between 1896 and 1911. After Josiah's death in 1911, Nola moved with her children from Wilbarger County, Texas, to Victoria County, Texas, to live with and care for her father. Nola married a second time, to William "Willie" Woodard Leatherwood, in 1915. Nola and Willie were the parents of two children.
