Per War of 1812 Soldier's and Widow's Pension Records, John Drennen (variously spelled as "Drennon" in 1850 Census, and as "Drenon" in 1860 Census for West Nottingham Township, Chester County, PA), was married to an Elizabeth Hartline at the time of his death. It indicates that they'd married on 25 January 1849. Per same record, John died on 2 July 1875 in Chester County, PA, and Elizabeth Drennen was recognized as his widow. John, a military veteran, served as a Private soldier in Hill's Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia, in the War of 1812, and Elizabeth having thus begun around 1878 to be paid a monthly widow's pension.

John and Elizabeth's first child, "Columbus," is listed as being 7 months old as of the 5 September 1850 date of the Census document.

Same record indicates that John was first married (date unknown) to a Mary McCreery(sp).
