Clifford Ruston, 79, of Cecil, Arkansas died Sunday, March 24, 2019 surrounded in love by his family at Mercy in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a retired poultry and cattle rancher, a United States Army Veteran, and was of the Christian faith. He was born June 6, 1939 in Cecil, Arkansas. He was the son of John and Leta Almond Ruston. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Bill Ruston. Clifford was an avid outdoorsman and fully embraced retirement by spending time with family and friends.
Clifford is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Mary Burcham Ruston of Cecil; three sons, Jon and Cody Ruston both of Cecil, and Tracy Dixon of Altus, Arkansas; a daughter, Stacy Dixon of Ozark; a sister, Ann Hall of Cecil; a brother, John Ruston of Ozark; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Family will visit with friends Tuesday, March 26th at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial St. in Ozark.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Cecil Cemetery with Reverend Dale Richardson officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Serving as pallbearers are Allen Nordin, Lonnie Wayne Burcham, Brian Hall, Alan Hall, Doug Hall, Jason Wilbanks, and Billy Ruston. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Gibbs, Dougan Walker, Keith Ruston, Blake Campbell, and Jacob Campbell.
