James Edward Streeter, age 81, of Lawrence, IN died on Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home after a brief illness. He was born on October 6, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Eathen E. and Ruth P. (Hills) Streeter.

He served in the US Army from 1956 until 1960 where he was with the Military Police assigned to Fort Benjamin Harrison. After his discharge he made Lawrence, IN his home for more than 60 years. He served with the Lawrence Police Department from 1960 until 1966. In 1976 he started his own radio repair business, J.E.S. & Sons, Inc. which he operated until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Ruth E. (Robert Jr.) Perkins, Ronald E. Streeter, Susan E. Streeter, Sharon L. (Paul) Legan and James E. (Jeanine) Streeter II; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret Streeter and 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence, 5215 N. Shadeland Ave. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis.
